The Start of Imsouane Vibe

Imsouane Vibe began as an Instagram page, created by Hakim, to share the surf lifestyle and good energy of our little coastal town. But everything changed on January 19, 2024, when the demolition of properties in Imsouane began.

It was an emotional and heartbreaking moment for our community. Locals shared the tragedy online, and people around the world showed support. But with so much information – and mis-information – spreading on social media, many believed the entire village had been destroyed. Suddenly, visitors cancelled their reservations and trips, which only hurt even more locals whose businesses and homes were still standing.

That’s when the Imsouane Vibe page found its mission: to remind people that Imsouane was still here. We began sharing the businesses that remained open, the waves that were still breaking, and the spirit of our town that could never be demolished. Slowly, surfers and travellers returned, and life in Imsouane started flowing again.

From there, Imsouane Vibe grew from an online page into a real community – organising surf, skate, and music events, bringing locals and travellers together to celebrate what makes this place so special.

Today, we’ve taken it one step further with the Imsouane Vibe Surf Camp – a space to stay, surf, chill, and connect. A place born from resilience, built on community, and dedicated to keeping the magic of Imsouane alive for everyone who comes here.

Hakim: Founder

Hakim is an Amazigh surfer from the Atlas Mountains, near Taroudant city. After finishing his studies in Mathematics & IT in Agadir, he moved to Taghazout, where his surfing journey truly began. While working at Hashpoint Surf Camp, he built valuable experience and started shaping his dream: one day opening a surf camp of his own.

That dream brought him to Imsouane, where he managed both a restaurant and the surf club Happy Bay. After the January 2024 demolitions, Hakim continued supporting the community, managing Imi Bay Restaurant while still holding onto his vision of creating something meaningful around surf, culture, and connection.

Today, that dream is becoming reality. Partnering with a local Imsouane family – blending Hakim’s experience and ambition with the Hadoum family’s warm and simple surf house – they’ve created the Imsouane Vibe Surf Camp. A place where travellers can stay, surf, and share the authentic lifestyle of this magical village.

Hadoum: House owner

Lalla Hadoum is the woman behind the house – a kind and generous mother whose roots run deep in Imsouane. She is also the mother of Saad, a young local surfer carrying the spirit of the waves in his blood.

For years, her home has been a place of simplicity and warmth, where family, friends, and travellers could gather. When Hakim arrived with his dream of creating a surf camp, it felt natural to combine his vision and experience with Lalla Hadoum’s family house.

Together, they created the Imsouane Vibe Surf Camp – a place where guests not only surf and explore but also feel the heart of a true Amazigh home, filled with care, community, and authenticity.
