Frequently Asked Questions

A: Yes — Imsouane is one of the best longboard destinations in the world. The Bay offers a
right-hand point break with rides up to 600 metres, making it the longest wave in Africa. The
slow, peeling nature of the wave is perfect for classic longboard style: cross-stepping,
noseriding, and long glides.

A: No. The Bay in Imsouane is one of the most beginner-friendly waves in Morocco. The wave is
slow, long, and gentle. Complete beginners can stand up and ride here. If you have never
surfed before, we start with basics on the sand before entering the water.

A: A classic longboard is typically 9 to 10 feet long and much wider than a shortboard. It
paddles easily, catches waves early, and is very stable. Classic longboard style focuses on
footwork, cross-stepping toward the nose, and smooth turns — not tricks or aerial moves.

A: Imsouane has waves year-round. Winter (November to March) brings the biggest and most
powerful swells — better for intermediate and advanced longboarders. Summer (June to August)
brings smaller, cleaner waves ideal for beginners learning longboard technique. Spring and
autumn are perfect for all levels.

A: We keep groups small — maximum 4 people per instructor — so you get real feedback and
personal attention in the water, not just a mass surf school experience.

A: Yes. If you already have experience, you can rent a classic longboard and surf The Bay
independently. Ask us about rental options when you book.

The bay can busy when the waves are small, but with our surf instructors we always choose best timing for our students
