How to Get to Imsouane from Agadir — Complete Transport Guide

Getting to Imsouane is easier than most people expect. The village sits about 90 kilometres north of Agadir on Morocco’s Atlantic coast — and whether you are arriving by plane, bus, or car, you have several options.

Here is everything you need to know about getting to Imsouane from Agadir and beyond — with real prices and honest tips from people who make this journey all the time.

From Agadir to Imsouane

Option 1 — Private Transfer (Easiest)

A private transfer from Agadir or Agadir Al Massira Airport directly to Imsouane takes approximately 90 minutes and removes all the stress of navigating unfamiliar roads.

Advantage: Door-to-door, your driver knows Imsouane, you arrive relaxed and ready to surf.

Note: you can book a taxi with us and we arrange the pick up, the driver will be waiting for at the exit holding a sign of your name.

Option 2 — Grand Taxi from Agadir

Grand taxis are Morocco’s long-distance shared taxis — large cars sedans that take 6 passengers and run fixed routes between towns.

From Agadir’s main grand taxi station (near the central bus station), you can find taxis heading toward Tamri and Imsouane. Ask for “Imsouane” — drivers will know it.

Price (shared): Approximately 50–80 MAD per person
Price (private/chartered): Approximately 300–500 MAD for the whole car
Time: 90–120 minutes depending on the route and stops
Note: Shared taxis leave when they are full — allow extra time in your travel plan

Option 3 — Rental Car

Driving to Imsouane is straightforward. The road is fully paved, well-signposted, and scenic along the coast. You will pass fishing villages, argan tree farms, and Atlantic views the whole way.

Route: From Agadir take the N1 north. After passing Taghazout, continue north following signs for Tamri and Imsouane. Total drive: approximately 90 minutes.
Parking: Free parking is available in the village near the bay.

Tip: Book a rental car the airport online for a cheaper.
Tip: Google Maps navigation works well for this route.

Option 4 — Local Bus (Budget Option)

SOUK TO SURF is one of the best and cheapest option, you can book it online and the bus is coming all the way to imsouane village

The problem with Souk To Surf is that they have only one time per day 3:15pm

There is no direct bus from Agadir to Imsouane. However, buses from Agadir toward Essaouira (CTM or Supratours) pass through the area. You would need to ask the driver to stop near the Imsouane junction and arrange onward transport from there. This is possible but adds complexity — not recommended if you are arriving with a surfboard or heavy luggage.

From Marrakech to Imsouane

Marrakech is the most common starting point for international travelers heading to Imsouane.

Tip : check Souk To Surf for availability, they have the best and cheapest option to come from Marrakech to Imsouane, you will have to pass by a stop in Essaouira.

By car: Approximately 3.5 to 4 hours via the A7 motorway to Agadir, then north on the N1 to Imsouane. The drive is excellent — motorway to Agadir, then coastal road.
By bus + taxi: Take a CTM or Supratours bus from Marrakech to Agadir (3–4 hours, approximately 120–200 MAD), then a grand taxi from Agadir to Imsouane.
By plane: Flights from Marrakech to Agadir (Al Massira Airport) operate regularly — a 1-hour flight can make sense if you are combining a city break with a surf stay.

Arriving in Imsouane — What to Know

The village is small and easy to navigate on foot. Most surf camps, guesthouses, and restaurants are within a short walk of the bay. There are no large hotels or resorts — accommodation is local and human-scale.

ATMs are limited in Imsouane — it is best to withdraw cash in Agadir before you arrive. Most small guesthouses and cafes are cash-only.

Mobile data and WhatsApp work well in the village. You can message us on arrival and we will meet you at our surf camp.
